The internet is a significant part of young people’s lives. It has revolutionised the way we communicate, learn, and interact. However, it isn’t all fun and games, safety should always be a concern.

Every year Safer Internet Day aims to raise awareness of emerging or prevalent online issues, ranging from cyberbullying to avoiding scams, data privacy and cyber predator concerns. At our school we will be spending the week addressing online safety issues, educating pupils on how best to protect themselves and others online.

Our Digital Leaders will be holding a worship explaining why it is important to be safe online and the across the school, children will take part in a competition to design an online safety poster which will be displayed on all of the iPads across the school or 1 month.

For Safer Internet Day 2024, the UK Safer Internet Centre is organising celebrations and learning based around the theme: ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, Managing Influence and Navigating Change Online’. To find out more please visit the site: https://saferinternet.org.uk/

All our members of staff are involved in encouraging safe online practices throughout the year, and excellent training is provided through The White Horse Federation. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s online safety, please speak to a member of staff.
