Rowan Class

Welcome to Rowan class! We are excited to be starting our new year together and have lots of great learning planned to help you all settle back in.

In Rowan class, our teacher is Mrs Lawer, and Miss Selway is our teaching assistant. In Year 4, we also have Mrs Howe, Mrs Brailey, and Ms Tape supporting us with our learning so you will see them sometimes as well.

Term 1:
Our first theme this year is called ‘A World of Pure Imagination’. We will be reading lots of the wonderful stories by Roald Dahl and incorporating some of the themes and ideas that are explored by the characters in the books. We have been working hard to ensure that you all have a successful and positive start to the new term and that you feel comfortable with some of the new changes at school.

Things to remember:

At the moment P.E. will be on a Wednesday afternoon so please can children make sure they have a kit suitable for both indoor or outdoor P.E. in school on this day. Days for P.E. may change throughout the year but you will receive a Dojo message notifying you of any changes.

Outdoor Learning:
Rowan class are looking forward to their outdoor learning sessions which will start at a later date on Wednesdays. Mrs Lawer will send a Dojo to let you know when Rowan class outdoor sessions are due to start and remind you of what children need to wear.

We will be doing our weekly spelling test on a Monday morning. Spellings for the term will be stuck in the front of their spelling book and children should know which list they are learning and practising each week.

Maths Attack:
We will do this every Friday and the children will know whether or not they have moved onto the next level.

If you ever need to contact us please use Dojo and we will get back to you as best as we can.

We are looking forward to another great year and we hope you are too!
