"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord… "Plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Hello and welcome to Oak Class! We have an exciting year ahead; I hope that everyone's looking forward to our learning. We are Year 6 and our class teacher is Miss Gingell. We are also lucky enough to have lots of supportive Teaching Assistants to help us with our learning in Upper School.

Our first topic this year is Hygge: the Danish concept of happiness, which acknowledges a feeling or moment, when alone or with friends.
We have been working hard to ensure that you all have a successful and positive start to the new term and that you feel comfortable with some of the new changes at school.
Home Learning will include weekly spellings, reading and a termly project challenge. Spellings will be given out every Friday and tested the following Friday. Maths Attack will also be tested weekly: children will know whether or not they have moved onto the next level.
Children need to be reading at least five times each week and they need to have their reading record signed by an adult. Remember that this can be any sort of reading: a school book, a magazine, recipes, newspapers etc.
At the moment, P.E. will be on a Wednesday morning (with the sports coach) and a Friday afternoon, so please can children make sure they have a kit suitable for both indoor or outdoor P.E. in school on this day. Days for P.E. may change throughout the year, but you will receive a Dojo message notifying you of any changes.
Please do not hesitate to contact Miss Gingell via the Oak Class Dojo with any questions.
