Welcome to our class page!
On this page you can find out a little more about our class, teachers and the events which will be going on at school during the year. If you have a question, this page will be your first port of call!
We will be looking at different Victorian inventors and how their inventions have changed the course of history. The different inventors we will be looking at are: Marie Curie (the person who discovered radium), George Stephenson (the inventor of the stem engine), Thomas Edison (the inventor or the lightbulb) Isambard Kingdom Brunel (the inventor of the steamship) and Alexander Bell (the inventor of the telephone.)
We are also going to be reading 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl in class. This is a really exciting book and the children are already really looking forward to it. If you have a copy of this book please bring it in (named!) so that we can all share the book as we are reading :)
Our class is firmly part of the school forest and is named after the Rowan tree.
The Rowan tree is a small tree which is famous for growing and thriving in all weather, even through the toughest storms! In our class we will all be focusing on growing as individual trees, as part of the wider team ready to face any weather!
Jesus uses the example of a mustard seed, the tiniest of them all, to show that if we play our part and have just a little faith, we can grow into the greatest tree of them all!
Rowan's teacher this year is Mrs Hills.
Mrs Hills loves singing, smiling and minions as well as learning and laughing.
Our lovely teaching assistants are Mrs Rivers, Mrs Morris and Mrs Dequidt.
We have a class minion called Stuart :)
This will be where our wow awards, writing whizz and maths magician are announced :)
Wow awards- Cristiano
Maths Magicians- Joe
Writing Whizz- Lucy
We also have weekly Successful Learning awards and Values stars!
Well done all who were awarded with something- we are so proud of you!!
Homework is a list of spellings and times tables to be learnt weekly as well as reading at home.
Spellings will be set and tested on Fridays and times tables will be on Thursdays.
Every other week there may be extra things to do such as handwriting practice or project homework. These will be set on Friday and expected by the following Wednesday.
If a child is a little slow with their work and would like to take it home to finish off, this is also an option.
Class Assembly- 21st of January 2017
