Chestnut

Hello and welcome to Chestnut Class.

We are a Year 3/4 class and our teachers are

Mrs Hiscocks Tuesday - Friday.  Mrs Bacon - Mondays

We are lucky to have four Teaching Assistants in our phase who are Mrs Andrews, Mrs Morris, Mrs Dequidt and Miss Allen

Our theme this term is:

YABADABADOO!

We are going to be spending terms 1 and 2 exploring the Stone Age. We will learn all about what it was like to live in the Stone Age and how it is different from life today. We will even be using some really interesting artefacts and tools in our art and DT.

We have made a great start to our topic and even exploring our key text for English, 'Stig of the Dump'. Sycamore class have made some brilliant predictions about what is going to happen in our story and we are all very excited to learn all about the adventures of Barney and Stig!

PE- For term 1, we are going to be having PE on a Thursday and Wednesdays. You will need an indoor and an outdoor PE kit in school at all times.

Homework

We are expecting you to read 5 times at week at home. Remember, reading doesn't just have to be sat down with a reading book, you could read a recipe, a newspaper, a magazine or I would love to hear what interesting facts you can find out about the Stone Age on the internet!

Spellings will be set every Monday and will be tested the following Monday. This gives you exactly a week to learn your spellings at home :)

Remember to check the class website for ideas and activities linked to our class topic too :)
