Admission Arrangements

Education Admission Arrangements (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2002

Forest & Sandridge Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School has determined to set an admission number of 60 for the academic year 2017 – 2018. Governors plan to organise 60 children into two classes of 30, the maximum number of children permitted by law to be in an infant class (ages 4-7).

 

Any person or organisations who wish to object to the governing body’s decision should contact:

Any further information about admission number may be obtained from the governing body c/o Forest & Sandridge CE VA Primary School, Cranesbill Road, Melksham, SN12 7GN.

 

Applications for a place in reception for a child starting school in September 2017 can be made between September 1st 2016 and midnight on the 15th January 2017. Application forms are available from the school office and applications can also be made on-line through the Wiltshire Council Website. Click here for a direct link.

 

We have Open Mornings where you are more than welcome to come and have a look around our school. No need to make an appointment. These will be held on 5th October at 25th November between 9.00am and 12.00noon. There will be an address by the Headteacher at 9.30 and 10.45.

Admissions Appeals

 

The headteacher would like to meet with you if you are considering lodging an appeal to talk through the process and explain why your child has not been offered a place at Forest & Sandridge. Please read the letter below for details and to find out how to book an appointment.

If you are unsuccessful in your admission application, you have the right of appeal. The information below will provide you with help and advice. If you wish to discuss the appeal procedure with someone, please contact Liz Wakeley at the school on 01225 703394.

For on-time applications within the normal (annual) admissions round:

  • Parents have 21 school days to return an appeal form to the school from the date of their refusal letter. Forms are available here.
  • Admissions authorities must hear the appeal within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.
  • Appellants will have at least 10 days notice of their appeal hearing.

For late applications within the normal (annual admissions round):
